Naturally, some of those overweight kids carry their weight problems all the way to their teenage years, and even to adulthood.  If your kid is in this situation, here are some tips for quick weight loss for teens, without having to resort to drastic measures like invasive surgery or even getting him or her on diet pills or enrolling your kid under an expensive gym membership.<br />
Quick weight loss for teens # 1<br />
Good nutrition always starts at home.  You have to keep this in mind.  Instead of keeping in check or even limiting severely what your kid eats, take a good, hard and honest look at what the entire family is eating.  Teens develop their eating habits from what you teach them.  So if you are a family of potato chip eaters, you need to wean the entire family from the chips and go for healthier options like fresh fruit and vegetables.  Try not to create a meal plan only for your overweight teenager, while the rest of the family chows down on the unhealthy stuff.  Your kid will only resent this and may sneak in meals outside your home.<br />
Quick weight loss for teens # 2<br />
Speaking of meals, try to ditch all the processed food you have at home &#8211; and that includes the frozen dinners and the &#8220;diet food&#8221; that you have been stocking up.  These are loaded with extenders, preservatives and sugar in order to become palatable.  Unfortunately, these are the same &#8220;low calorie&#8221; food that triggers hunger pangs which will subsequently make your kid eat more.  Go for the fresh produce instead. Why not engage him or her into an activity that you know your kid will like &#8211; and you will know this by simply asking them what they would like to do.  If your teenager wants to learn skateboarding, then let them do so, even if you have misgivings about possible accidents.  If he or she wants to learn to dance or learn how to play the drums, then let them do so.  Try not to force your kid into activities without even consulting him or her.  This makes your teenager more resentful of the fact that you did not ask in the first place.<br />

Encourage your teen to drink more water or freshly made juice as a substitute for unhealthy snacks. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>In Daniel Reid’s great book The Tao of Health, Sex &#038; Longevity, there’s a section on foods that ‘kill’ fat.  </p>
<p>Reid lists the foods (and juices) to help obesity, which include Carrot juice (possibly the single most cleansing, nourishing of all the veggie juices); a combo of Carrot, beet and cucumber juice, which corrects acidosis by alkalinizing the system; Spinach, which cleanses the lower bowel; and Cabbage juice, which helps with digestion and elimination. </p>
<p>He also mentions &#8220;Foods to Avoid: all refined starch and sugar, especially white bread and sweet pastries, overcooked meats; fatty meats; chocolate; pasteurised milk; cooked eggs; alcohol. &#8221;</p>
<p>Well, just goes to show.  I don’t think fat on meat is a bad thing: in fact I think it can sometimes be good for you.  I don’t mind eggs either, since they’re protein, but I do agree that frying food is not as healthy as broiling and steaming. </p>
<p>But generally I think Reid’s suggestions are fantastic, and I recommend getting the book (and no, I don’t get commissions from anyone for punting their stuff <img src='http://quick-weight-loss-programs.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif' alt=';)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p>Reid also has a large section on Food Combining, which is – I believe – essential for weight loss and health in general.  </p>
<p>But what is Food Combining it? I can&#8217;t go into exhaustive detail now, but in essence it’s the claim (and I have demonstrated the truth of it in my own life) that different food types should not be combined.  </p>
<p>Don’t mix protein and starch, for example.  If you follow this rule, you will find that, amongst others, your digestion will improve remarkably.  </p>
<p>For a more detailed explanation, there’s a lot of info out there, but one book I found great was Harvey and Marilyn Diamond’s book Fit For Life.  Check it out (and other books too) &#8211; and do your digestive system and figure a favor.  </p>
<p>Not only will you have less gas and ‘bloat’, but I found you lose weight.  </p>
<p>If you want to prove food combining works, try this experiment: eat a pure protein meal, or a pure starch meal.  Do NOT mix the protein and starch.  See how easily the meal is digested.  </p>
<p>Then mix protein and starch in a meal, and note how long it takes to go through, and whether you have gas.  I think you’ll conclude that it’s best not to mix!</p>
<p>Other food combining tips: eat fruit alone; eat different types of fruits separately; eat melon as a fruit separately (i. e.  not mixed with any other kind of fruit); and drink (unpasteurised) milk by itself, alone.  </p>

Weight Loss is 20% exercise and 80% proper diet.  Even vigorous exercise alone is not sufficient for healthy, effective weight loss.  A nutritious, balanced diet is the major player in attaining a healthy weight, safely.<br />
1.  Plan a nutritious diet, with the right-sized portions.  A proper diet consists of carbohydrates, proteins, and fats.   Each meal should have a mix of  It&#8217;s a common myth that eliminating fat entirely means losing weight.  In fact, fat plays an essential role in skin suppleness and elasticity.  Without fat-intake, your body cannot absorb essential vitamins and minerals.   Good fats are considered mono-unsaturated fats, which the body can break down easily.  A few examples are olive oil, avocados, nuts, and fish-which contain omega-3s.   Bad fats are trans-fat or saturated fat, and easily noted on all nutrition labels.  Another word for this is partially hydrogenated oil.<br />
2.  Take a multi-vitamin, and drink about 8 glasses of water a day.  A multi-vitamin is essential to ensuring that you are getting a complete dose of vitamins and minerals-especially during hectic wedding planning.  Your body needs water to effectively flush out the waste and your skin will glow! Also, drinking water before meals will slow your appetite and food intake, aiding your weight loss goals safely.<br />
3.  Be sure to eat plenty of fruits and veggies (the greener the better), along with your meals.
